Descent into darkness

 

For all of their rhetoric about increased enlightenment, what must liberals think about the Penn State situation.

 

I couldn’t help but feel, watching it play out, that we have returned to the coliseum - and now stand collectively in the stands with coarse and base motivations.  What of civility, honor, responsibility?  What of community and caring?

 

It is a dark and strange American “civilization” in which we live….don’t suggest that any solution lays with government which has been shown to be wholly incapable of improving any sector into which it has injected itself.
